Introduction

The P&D (Planning and Delivery) Freight Operations department is responsible to design, build, and maintain the global logistics transportation network in line with customer requirements. A flawless distribution network is key for a smooth supply chain. Fast and flexible transportation networks, customs activities, differentiated warehousing solutions and complex value-added services are some characteristics of our landscape as P&D.

The Freight Operations Specialist will provide operational support for capital equipment global and domestic shipments and projects within the ASML supply chain, freight bill auditing, analysis, reporting, setting up deliveries in partnership with internal and external business partners, quickly and efficiently resolving challenges that arise in a timely fashion. They will enable and support effective and efficient execution and decision making in partnership with management and secure the freight spend in alignment with freight forwarder agreements and strategy. They will focus on activities supporting the business growth surrounded by a team of professionals driving the supply chain infrastructure towards innovations, business needs, 3PL performance, and process analytics.

Role and Responsibilities

Freight On-time Delivery

  • Planning, arranging, scheduling, and coordinating the movement of capital equipment shipments including machine systems, RETM (return materials) reverse logistics flow, optics, etc.

  • Tracking and troubleshooting of ongoing shipments in cooperation with warehouses, forwarders, customers and customs brokers to secure event communication and on-time delivery.

  • Provide timely communication to key stakeholders on status of shipments.

  • Coordinate with team in NL and TW for operational activity planning / alignment and dock planners for delivery.

  • Lead meetings with internal and external business partners to align on business activities.

  • Ability to navigate and maintain focus during ambiguous situations in a demanding environment with changing workloads and deadlines.

  • Ensure freight forwarding partners execute EHS safety expectations.

  • Support other Freight Operations team members.

Freight Bill Auditing / Cost control / Process Improvements

  • Compare rate cards in transport management system to secure exact match with the transport rate agreements with the actual freight bills making sure the registration of cost is done correctly. Address and resolve any discrepancies in the rates.

  • Structurally optimize the billing structure between ASML and the transportation suppliers.

  • Ensure most cost effective solutions are considered while maintaining customer service / business deliverables.

  • Challenge if the status quo processes can be more efficient / drive continuous improvements around the Capital Equipment processes.

  • Partner with our freight forwarders on process improvements.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.

  • Minimum 3-7 years of work experience in logistics, supply chain management or operational management.

  • Experience in a challenging environment with coordinating with different stakeholders, activities, and layers.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.

  • Intermediate to advance competencies in MS Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge of logistics management systems (TMS), their set-up and application, SAP ECC preferred.

  • Knowledge of customs import and export regulations is a plus.

Other Information

  • Position may require travel up to 10%.

  • Willingness to remain flexible to work outside of normal business hours to support the needs of the business.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. * 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
