ABOUT THE ROLE
The Broadcast Reliability Engineer monitors, automates, and maintains cutting-edge distribution platforms for one of the premier national broadcasters. This role is part of our support team to ensure our content is readily available to viewers at any time via broadcast channel playout, Video OnDemand (VOD) and other media services.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is part of a 24/7 support team. Your schedule will have a mix of days when you are working day shifts and other days when you will be working night shifts.

Engineering

  • Develop strategies and solutions in support of monitoring and/or automating complex broadcast systems, networks and platforms in a hybrid environment (on premise/public cloud)

  • Implement innovative monitoring/control solutions to support Master Control, Playout operations, and distribution broadcast supply chain

  • Develop software (C#, Python) to accommodate requirements into processes/automations that will be used during our end to end operations

  • Continuously strive to increase automation and use of technology to streamline and simplify operational processes and tasks

  • Work with various internal stakeholder (IT, Operations, etc.) on the development and evolution of automation standards, strategy & operational support plans, to ensure deployed solutions are secure, supportable & compliant with internal standards and regulatory requirements

Collaboration & Partnerships

  • Consult with FOX Sports, Entertainment and News and FOX executives to understand business and technical requirements and be able to translate them to solutions

  • Execute projects in collaboration with Media Operations team

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Level & Role Specific Qualification

  • Hands on experience working on software based design and development projects

  • Strong analytical, reasoning, and technical troubleshooting skills are essential

  • Previous experience with architecture/deploying monitoring, alerting, and/or data analysis systems, both on-premise & in cloud environments is a plus

  • Strong analytical and technical troubleshooting skills are essential

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including visual presentation skills

  • Experience with SW development, C# and Python preferred, and with RESTful APIs

  • Experience with production video and broadcast operations

  • Experience with IP routing & workows (ST-2110/2022-6, etc.)

General Qualifications

  • Ability to translate business and operation requirements into technical requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership skills in a fast-paced, team-driven environment

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Bachelor/Master's degree or equivalent practical experience in Engineering, IT, Computer Science or related Tech eld

  • Experience with the Skyline DataMiner platform (developing protocols and automations), is a major plus

  • Experience with logging, monitoring and analytics platforms (Telestream Inspector, Interra Orion, ELK, Splunk, etc.)

  • Incident response management, integration with reporting tools such as ServiceNow & Slack

  • Proficient with data structuring languages, including XML, JSON
