ChristianaCare is currently seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) for our 18-bed Neuro Critical Care (NCCU) and our 6-bed Transitional Neuro (TNU) units. In this role, the Assistant Nurse Manager will assist the Nurse Manager in the clinical and administrative activities of the departments in order to ensure patients the provision of quality care. As the ANM you will also be required to work a minimum of 8-hours a week in staffing.

The NCCU focuses on care of neurological and neurosurgical patients and our TNU is a stepdown unit that focuses on the patients there were stepped down from the NCCU.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises all nursing and technical personnel: Assesses competency of staff, oversees daily staffing and scheduling needs of department, evaluate staff performance, counsel/coach staff member as needed.
  • Participates in hiring, promotion, and termination decisions.
  • Functions as role model, demonstrating quality expertise and professional behaviors.
  • Directs, mentors and supports all levels of staff.
  • Develops, implements and monitors performance improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Identifies and develops strategies to improve the overall knowledge base and professionalism of staff.
  • Analyzes administrative and operational functions; implements appropriate changes and system wide improvements.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • Master's degree in Nursing required within 5 years.
  • Three years' appropriate acute care, clinical experience required.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • Appropriate clinical certification required.
