Job Description
You will not find this opportunity anywhere else because Vaco Phoenix has an exclusive search for a Corporate Controller role for a publicly traded company with multiple financial entities here in the Phoenix Valley. While industry experience is a big plus, we're specifically targeting an experienced technical finance professional with Big 4, public company experience, that understands regulatory agency requirements (SEC) and GAAP. This Controller needs to be someone that is looking to take his or her career to new heights with this rapid growth company that operates in a great industry. In addition, we'll be looking for a related degree, advanced level certifications and great communication skills. Below is a representative, high level job scope document but in many ways the successful candidate will write their own job description.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and evaluate the organization's accounting functions and performance, including the corporate holding company and its subsidiaries.
  • Provide timely and accurate analysis of actual monthly financial results compared to budgets, financial analysis and trends, and any other required information and analysis to assist the CFO, COO, and other senior executives.
  • Be the lead and point person with professional firms for quarterly reviews, annual financial audits, and related SEC filings ensuring compliance with all regulations without exception.
  • Departmental budgets and forecasts.
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement policies and procedures for the accounting group to improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
  • Handle banking relationships.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business - Accounting; CPA preferred.
  • 5-7 years of accounting experience in construction, technology, and/or manufacturing industries.
  • Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience with Big 4 or similar national firm.
  • Public company experience as Corporate Controller.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Complete understanding of and adherence to regulatory agency requirements (SEC) and GAAP.
  • Tax reporting and analysis experience.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
