Overview

Summary:

Provides underwriting technical support to new and renewal underwriters. Main responsibilities include assisting with new and renewal file preparation, endorsement requests, loss control review, follow up with agents, binding process, and miscellaneous tasks. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

    Perform underwriting support associated with information gathering and rating of new business, renewals and mid-term changes.
  1. Handle policy issuance instructions for new and renewal business and follow up for bind subjectivities.
  2. Review and provide instructions to Operations for endorsement requests.
  3. Order Loss Control inspections on new business and as instructed by renewal underwriters.
  4. Provide agency support for general questions regarding renewal status, endorsement status, cancellation status, billing inquires, commission questions, loss runs, etc.
  5. Review Loss Control inspections and identify items that need addressing by the underwriter. Add UW Flags for items that need to be addressed at renewal.
  6. Flag files as needed for agency changes, coverage changes, etc.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

1-3 years of insurance industry experience required. Specialized knowledge of Commercial Property, General Liability, Auto, Workers Compensation, and Umbrella products preferred.

  • High School Graduate or GED minimum. Prefer Associate or Bachelor Degree.
  • Industry insurance certifications desired such as AU, AINS, CISR.
  • Research and analytical skills to identify, gather and organize information and provide recommendations.
  • Able to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced multi-tasking environment.
  • Organized, proficient at follow up, responsive, reliable, strong attention to detail and adaptable to change.
  • Ability to learn new software applications.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Thrives in a team environment.
