Maintenance Supervisor - 2nd/3rd Shift

Atkore is a recipient of a Great Place to Work certification and a Top Workplaces USA award! We are currently looking for a Maintenance Supervisor - 2nd/3rd Shift to be based out of Phoenix, AZ. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this person must display exceptional technical skills, ability to problem solve, and the expertise to provide necessary maintenance solutions. This position has supervisory responsibility of the Maintenance Technician team and may require 24/7 support for major plant maintenance issues.

What you'll do:

  • Plan, organize and supervise all maintenance staff on projects related to maintenance of the shop and equipment, including capital improvement projects.
  • Coordinate and manage the activities and scheduling of repairs, maintenance, outside vendors and contractors.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance and programs related to maintenance systems and related equipment for the facility.
  • Follow through and verify maintenance jobs are done in a timely manner while maintaining quality standards.
  • Supervise maintenance team to ensure schedules, projects and applicable timelines meet production needs for the site.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Ensure overall accuracy and integrity of data entered and maintained in the CMMS system.

What you'll bring:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in engineering or facilities maintenance preferred.
  • 5+ years working in a plant maintenance role, ideally in an industrial setting with minimum of two years' experience in supervising or leading others.
  • Technical experience in mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic components, and diagnosing and repairing of mechanical equipment is critical.
  • Must have strong Mechanical and/or Electrical skill sets.
  • Strong Computer skills in Excel, Word, Power Point and MS Project
  • Effective leadership skills and problem-solving techniques is a must. Great interpersonal skills with a strong ability to communicate both positive and negative messages.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, off hours, and variable environment.

Within 3 months, you'll:

  • Complete your Atkore immersion program
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy
  • Gain an understanding of the training materials and procedures your team owns

Within 6 months, you'll:

  • Update training materials and procedures
  • Partner with Safety and HR to investigate and provide corrective measures for on-the-job accidents, injuries, production issues, and HR issues
  • Identify ways to strengthen the team's commitment to Atkore's core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence

Within 12 months, you'll:

  • Be supervising an efficient team that delivers Atkore's strategy
  • Improve the site's maintenance needs and improving sustainability
  • Have meaningful performance conversations with your direct reports
  • Be able to resolve any issues quickly and safely
