The role reports to the Location Operations Manager and is located in Phoenix, Arizona. As a Warehouse Material - Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading, training, onboarding, communicating and directing distribution associates through daily activities while placing high emphasis on safety, quality, productivity and housekeeping to meet the daily goals and objectives.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead communicates and direct distribution associates through daily activities focusing on safety, quality, productivity, and housekeeping
  • Perform process audits to ensure compliance to documented procedures
  • Hands-on participation requiring high level of floor presence in order to direct the flow of daily activities and the timely movement of associates to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness throughout the operation
  • Capture daily performance activity for determining effective methods to increase performance
  • Understand and maintain work priorities
  • Monitor system and communication with internal/external customers to ensure work in being completed timely
  • Attend and assist with "Pre-Shift" meeting to share information, discuss safety, quality, daily plans, and staffing needs
  • Provide feedback and input to supervisor regarding associate's performance, behavior and attendance
  • Follow all safety guidelines and use appropriate PPE at all times
  • Other duties as requested by management
Your background

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a fast paced distribution environment
  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Prior experience as Supervisor/Team Leader a plus
  • Working knowledge of a warehouse management system
  • Ability to operate power industrial equipment
  • Basic computer skills and good understanding of overall distribution operations
  • Must be able to handle confidential and sensitive information/situations in a professional manner
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds repetitively and frequently
  • Not afraid of heights - Ability to work at all module levels
  • Required to climb, bend, stoop, and stand/walk for extended periods of time throughout shift
  • Strong leadership skills with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations
  • Detailed and team oriented
  • Flexible to work different shift if necessary and overtime with little or no notice
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
