Summary of Position Functions

The Service Technician III - Plumbing performs skilled work in the operation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of plumbing issues in commercial, industrial environments.


Essential Position Functions

* Performs a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks in the operation of plumbing systems in commercial and industrial sites.

* Troubleshoots, diagnosis and repair of plumbing issues.

* Assembles and Installs plumbing systems according to specifications and appropriate trade and building codes.

* Assembles and installs systems that may consist of piping, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and dranage.

* Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

* Communicates with customer, end user, and service dispatch.

* Performs daily work duties associated with the trade with little to no supervision in the field.

* Mentors apprentice level crew with on-the-job training.

* Maintains accurate and complete daily's, JHA's, required paperwork, and other procedures to company standards.

* Always maintains the highest safety standards while working on the job.

Education and Qualifications

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

* High school diploma or GED equivalent.

* 4 years' experience in the plumbing industry.

* Must be able to pass pre-employment criminal background check, obtain an Arizona fingerprint clearance card, and have an acceptable driving record.

* Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Knowledge of Veregy's services and processes is required which can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such
Knowledge.

* Knowledge in the use of a Camera Snake.

* Knowledge and ability to work on backflow preventer, water heaters, urinals, and toilets.

* Ability to follow blueprints and understand technical instructions.

* Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time/workload.

* Ability to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and staff.

* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and staff.

* Ability to speak and communicate effectively before customers and staff.

* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

* Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

* Ability to prioritize tasks and tactfully negotiate priority with end users.

* Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

* Valid driver's license.

* Backflow Preventer certification required.

* Current Journeyman Plumbing License preferred.
