Job Summary

We are seeking a Bridge Designer to join TYLin's Bridge Sector. In this role you will be asked to perform calculations, analysis and designs of bridges within the area. Within the team atmosphere, we plan to foster your knowledge and get you prepared and well-placed to learn and grow!

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepares comprehensive engineering reports, calculations, specifications, and drawings for structural (bridge) design projects.

  • Structural design for transportation structures such as bridges, tunnels, walls, etc.

  • Leads construction engineering support effort on designated projects.

  • Participates in a key technical role in local bridge projects, as well as major bridge projects within the Southwest Area.

  • Reviews / checks design calculations and reports for compliance with applicable codes and department standards.

  • Reviews project drawings for accuracy and completeness.

  • Assures the timely delivery of quality work products and services.

  • Leads and/or participates in in-depth study projects.

  • Coordinates and oversees technical approvals.

  • Provides guidance and mentoring to junior staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Master's degree preferred.

  • Must have at least 4 years of structural design experience in bridges and other transportation related structures

  • Requires advanced knowledge of Structural design and analysis software, including SAP2000, CSI Bridge, VBridge and VBent or LEAP Bridge, LPile, and column and frame ductility programs. Development of calculations using Excel and Mathcad. Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
